Moldova receives $4m in additional US emergency management assistance

The final installment of a 50-container shipment of U.S. emergency management assistance have arrived in Moldova. The U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau coordinated the procurement of this assistance which includes 540,000 personal protection kits. The total value of this assistance is $4,095,000, the U.S. Embassy in Moldova said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Each kit contains one pair of the following: plastic coveralls, rubber boots, rubber gloves, protective gloves, and protective goggles. Each kit also contains one plastic bag for hazardous waste collection, four alcohol pads, and one respirator mask. These kits have been delivered to the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service to enhance the capability of the service to respond to a variety of crisis situations, especially those that endanger the health of first responders.
“The U.S. Embassy remains committed to providing assistance to the Government of the Republic of Moldova to strengthen its capacity to provide necessary relief to its citizens in the unfortunate event of a disaster”, the press release reads.
