The €10 million in grants that forms part of the second tranche of the EU macro-financial assistance intended for Moldova was transferred to the account of the Ministry of Finance, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry says the disbursement of the funds was possible after the Republic of Moldova fully implemented the measures stipulated in the memorandum of understanding on macro-financial assistance. These include important measures related to the financial sector, the public sector, the fight against corruption and money laundering, energy sector and business climate and implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement.
The second tranche of the EU macro-financial assistance is composed of €10 million in grants and €20 million in low-interest, long-term loans. The €20 million in loans was transferred to the Ministry’s account on July 16.
