Moldova ranked 142nd by FIFA
The national football team of Moldova dropped 7 positions in the world rankings published on Wednesday, February 15, by the International Football Federation (FIFA), Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Tricolors were ranked 142nd with 207 points. The last time Moldova was placed so low was in May 1998. The lowest ranking ever was in 1994, when Moldova occupied the 149th position.
Moldova’s next match is a friendly against Belarus on February 29. It will be Ion Caras’ first match in charge of the national team.
Among Moldova’s group rivals for World Cup 2014 qualification, England are the highest ranked- 5th. The other teams kept their positions in the rankings: Montenegro 51st, Ukraine 59th, Poland 70th and San Marino 203rd.
European and World champions Spain top the list, followed by Germany and Netherlands.
