Moldova prepares humanitarian package with medical products for Ukraine

The Republic of Moldova is preparing a humanitarian package with medicines and medical equipment for Ukraine. Earlier, Moldova offered humanitarian aid to the value of €1.2 million to Vinnitsa and Odessa regions, said Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, who met with the Chairman of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada of Ruslan Stefanchuk in Kyiv, IPN reports.

In the meeting, Igor Grosu reiterated that the people of Moldova make common cause with Ukraine. “Since the start of the war, our country has strongly condemned the Russian Federation’s military aggression and expressed full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” stated the Speaker, being quoted in a press release.

Igor Grosu, who is visiting Ukraine together with MP Lilian Carp, travelled to Bucha, Gostomel and Irpin. “This war should be stopped, while the war crimes should be investigated and punished. Ukraine, in front of the whole world, now embodies courage and determination to defend their values and right to decide the future,” noted the Speaker.

He told the Ukrainian officials about Moldova’s readiness to detach a contingent of EOD technicians to help clear the territory so that the civilians feel safe.

Igor Grosu said that almost half a million Ukrainian refugees entered Moldova and about 100,000 of them are now in Moldova. Approximately 2,000 Ukrainian children were enrolled at general education institutions in Moldova.
