Moldova and Portugal have a 1-1 score at the Davis Cup after Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot won the first match against Gastao Elias, while Maxim Dubarenco was beaten by Portugal’s Joao Sousa. The doubles of the team championship will take place on September 14, IPN reports.

Radu Albot won in four sets by 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, while Maxim Dubarenco was defeated by 7-6, 6-7, 1-6, 3-6. The team championship matches are played at the Athletics Complex in Chisinau on September 13-15.

The doubles start at 1pm. Moldova’s Roman Borvanov and Andrei Ciumac meet Joao Sousa and Gastao Elias of Portugal. Also today, the young Moldovan tennis players will stage a masterclass for all the tennis lovers.

On September 15, there will be played the last two singles matches where the winner will be decided. The games will be broadcast live on the public TV channel and online.
