Twenty-three years after scoring a memorable victory against Wales, the national football team of Moldova meets again Wales, which this time comes as an UEFA EURO semifinalist and aims to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, IPN reports.

“After winning a victory against Austria, we keep good chances of qualifying for the Word Cup, but we expect to have a hard match against Moldova. We came here only after a victory,” Wales star Gareth Bale told a news conference.

Wales and Moldova also met in the first match of the current qualifying round and Wales won by 4-0 at home. “We have longed for a victory. We aim to win and to avoid the last position in the group,” said Moldova manager Igor Dobrovolski.

The Moldova – Wales encounter will take place at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on September 5, starting at 9:45pm.
