Moldova participates in 60th World Health Assembly
Moldova will participate as representative of the European Region of the World Health Organisation for the first time as part of the WHO Executive Committee. Its works will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 24-26. Moldova is represented in this forum by Minister of Health Ion Ababii.
Ababii is participating these days in the 60-th session of the World Health Assembly that started its works in Geneva on Monday, May 14.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, issues to be discussed include: avian and pandemic influenza and the application of the International Health Regulations; smallpox eradication; noncommunicable diseases; better medicines for children; and progress in the rational use of medicines.
The Health Assembly, including ministers of health from 193 member-states of WHO, will consider draft resolutions recommended by the WHO Executive Board on these and other issues.
