Moldova occupy 139th spot in FIFA rankings

The national football team of Moldova climbed one spot to 139th in the updated FIFA world rankings, published on Wednesday.
This is despite the fact that Moldova didn't play any mach last month. The next fixture of Ion Caras's side will be on August 15, when Moldova take on Albania in a friendly. This will be Moldova's last preparatory game before they start their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Among Moldova's qualification contestants, England are the best rated, standing on the 4th spot in the FIFA rankings. Except for San Marino who remained at the bottom (203rd), other contenders improved their standings as well: Ukraine are on 46th, Montenegro on 50th, and Poland on 54th.
European and world champions Spain continue to be the leaders of the FIFA rankings, followed by Germany and Uruguay.
