Moldova no longer on Romania’s list of countries with high epidemiological risk

Romania updated the list of states with an increased epidemiological risk and the Republic of Moldova is no longer on this list. The relevant decision was adopted by the National Committee for Emergency Situations of Romania and takes effect on January 19, at 6pm. This means the persons who fall under the exception categories and will travel from the Republic of Moldova will not have to quarantine when entering Romania, IPN reports.

According to Romania’s Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, the ban on entry into Romania through state border crossing points for foreigners and stateless persons was maintained, with a series of exceptions. The citizens of the Republic of Moldova, as of other states, who do not form part of the exception categories, cannot enter Romania during the state of alert. The list of persons who fall under the exception categories can be found on the official websites of the Romanian authorities.

In the case of foreigners who are in transit, entry into Romania is permitted on the presentation of guarantees that they will be allowed to enter the territory of the state of destination or that they will leave Romania. The goal of the trip can be confirmed by the permit of stay if such limitations are imposed by the states of transit or destination. It is recommended that the transit should be uninterrupted, using the specially created humanitarian corridors.
