Moldova must pay membership fees to different international organisations in the amount of MDL 47.15 mln

Moldova will pay membership fees to the international organisations in the total amount of MDL 47.15 mln (USD 3.6 mln). This sum was included in the Law on the budget for 2007. According to the data provided by the Government, the distribution of the membership fees and of the debts of Moldova in front of the international and regional organisations in 2007 was made depending on the importance and efficiency of the organisation, urgency of the payments, and the debts restructuring schedules. About USD 109 thousand were planned to be transferred to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in 2007, over USD 400 thousand to IBRD, about USD 100 thousand - to the EBRD, about USD 110 – to the International Financial Corporation, USD 204 – for the International Health Organisation, about EUR 150 thousand – to the Danube Conference, about EUR 107 thousand to the Intergovernmental Agency for Francophony. 57 organisations are included in the list of the Government. The debts of Moldova related to the payment of the membership fees amounts to MDL 26 mln. The membership fees for 2007 amount to MDL 24.6 mln. The most serious debts in this respect Moldova has in front of the IBRD – about USD 5 mln, the EBRD – USD 2.5 mln, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency – about USD 1 mln, UNESCO – about USD 1.3 mln, the International Labour Organisation – about USD 2.5, the International Health Organisation – USD 2.7 mln etc.
