Moldova must join Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan customs union, PUM
The Humanist Party (PUM), which was registered as a participant in the November 28 parliamentary elections, believes Moldova should join the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan customs union so as to promote closer economic integration and then should integrate politically with the ex-Soviet republics, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference, the party's chairman Valeriu Pasat said this integration will enable to foster economic growth, penetrate new eastern markets, attract investments and, as a result, reduce tariffs and increase salaries and pensions.
In another development, Valeriu Pasat said the Humanists will further demand that the Basis of Orthodoxy be introduced in schools as a compulsory subject so as to keep the century-old spiritual traditions of the Moldovan people. He stressed that the people in Moldovan are disappointed and in despair as they don't know what will be tomorrow.
“In 2001, the Communists had a constitutional majority and had ideal conditions for strengthening the statehood of Moldova, but the Communist leader instituted an authoritarian regime. The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration did not meet the expectations of the people, who hoped the Communist officials who are to blame for the wrongdoings committed during eight years of government will be held accountable,” Pasat said.
The Humanist Party considers the PCRM will make everything possible to return to power because their leader Vladimir Voronin is obsessed by the idea of taking revenge. This should not happen. At the same time, Moldova needs a new force that will not lie to the people about the integration into the EU that can take place only in 25-30 years, according to Valeriu Pasat.
The Humanist Party will be written on the 11th position in ballots. Its slogan is “Hope to the People of Good Faith”.
