The public association “Moldova mea” disapproves of the candidate for premiership Dorin Recean. In a news conference hosted by IPN, the association’s leader Fiodor Ghelici said that in the presidential elections, he urged the members and sympathizers of “Moldova mea” to support Maia Sandu, but now he is disappointed with the President’s statements.

Fiodor Ghelici noted the people had high hopes when they campaigned for the election of Maia Sandu as President. In a meeting with her, they also expressed their support for her.

President Sandu’s decision to designate Dorin Recean for Prime Minister is disappointing. “You brought close to you a person who is not different from those criminals who took part in the fabrication of cases, who are wanted,” stated Fiodor Ghelici. “With such a gesture, you dashed hopes, gave a blow to society and also to the own image. You promote a criminal who is an accomplice to offenses,” said the leader of “Moldova mea”.

He also said that he does not see what merits Dorin Recean has to be suitable for such a post. On the contrary, the candidate for premiership is suspected of having been involved in wrongdoings. If the parliamentary majority gives a vote of confidence to the Recean Government, they will suffer a defeat in the next elections. 

Fiodor Ghelici noted that this is the position of the about 500 members of the association “Moldova mea”, who are both private individuals and legal entities from different areas.
