The National Anticorruption Council “Moldova Mea” called on the chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu and the whole Democratic faction not to vote for Vlad Filat as Prime Minister. The Council’s head Fiodor Ghelici told a news conference that the support given to Filat will represent the end of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
Fiodor Ghelici said that owing to the corrupt government, Moldova’s debts amounted to US$6 billion. Corruption is present in all the areas and the investors leave Moldova.
According to Ghelici, if the PDM votes for Vlad Filat, they will betray the people. “Initially, they vote for Vlad Filat’s dismissal, invoking the illegalities committed in the country, and then propose him again for the same post. The people are bewildered by such actions and do not understand what’s going on,” said Fiodor Ghelici.
According to him, the votes given to Vlad Filat would represent the death of the PDM. “Marian Lupu should not think that Vlad Filat had money only for the Liberals. He will have money to buy the Democrats too, when time comes,” said Ghelici, underlining that Vlad Filat will never change as Marian Lupu wants.
Vlad Filat is the candidate for premiership designated by the head of state. Marian Lupu said earlier that the PDM is ready to consider giving support to Filat if they receive guarantees that he will not withdraw from the agreement on the formation of the AEI, as he did on February 13.
