The “Moldova Support Platform” initiates the implementation of the decisions taken at the donors’ conference held in Berlin on April 5. The subject was discussed in the bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and Germany on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral Moldovan-German relations on April 30, 2022, IPN reports, quoining a press release of Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
Secretary of State Veaceslav Dobîndă and the head of the German delegation Matthias Lüttenberg, Director for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia at the Federal Foreign Office, discussed the current stage of the Moldovan-German relations, agreeing joint actions within the Moldova Support Platform that will contribute to strengthening Moldova’s economic resilience, will ensure assistance in the energy sector and will help diversify bilateral cooperation.
Among the discussed subjects was regional security that was treated through the angle of the efforts to settle the Transnistrian conflict and the provocations witnessed on the left side of the Nistru the last few days.
The officials expressed their concern about the serious developments in Ukraine, noting that the continuous support of the foreign partners is the only possibility of strengthening Moldova’s actions to manage the refugee crisis.
In the consultations, it was reiterated the constant support provided by Germany to Moldova’s European course, including in the context of the submission of the application for EU membership, the filling out of the questionnaire and the continuous reform process in accordance with the Community acquis.
