Moldova looking to get 50 irrigation systems from Hungary
Moldova counts on Hungary's technical support in rehabilitating the national irrigation system. Mihai Pincov, deputy director of the “Apele Moldovei” Agency, has told Info-Prim Neo there's a possibility that the Hungarian government will donate 50 irrigation installations, with a market value of 15,000-20,000 euros each.
According to Pincov, the donation could be made as part of an assistance program in response to Moldova's appeal for international help following last summer's drought, or as part of an intensive agriculture development project.
Five districts in Moldova currently lack the possibility for large-scale irrigation and are compelled to make do on the so-called small irrigation.
Some 80 million lei are said to be needed to rehabilitate Moldova's irrigation system.
