The Republic of Moldova and Japan will negotiate an agreement on the promotion and protection of investments. Based on this, each state will encourage the investors of the other state to invest on its territory as they will enjoy fair and correct treatment, full protection and safety. The Government approved the initiation of negotiations on the draft agreement, IPN reports.
“The signing of this agreement is a mutual commitment to develop and strengthen economic cooperation. Japan is a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova. We have good cooperation potential that can be fully realized by strengthening the dialogue between our countries,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitization.
The agreement does not place financial commitments on Moldova. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization will ensure the conduct of negotiations by diplomatic ways, by fulfilling the national legal requirements.
The agreement will be valid for ten years and will be extended automatically for successive periods of five years.
