The competent institutions of Moldova and Italy will sign a bilateral cooperation agreement in the area of culture, which will intensify the implementation of concrete measures aimed at promoting cultural values and at supporting projects in different fields of culture. Such a decision was reached in a meeting of Minister of Culture Monica Babuc and Italy’s Ambassador in Chisinau Enrico Nunziata, who discussed possibilities of developing the bilateral cooperation in culture, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the Ministry of Culture.
Monica Babuc pleaded for intensifying the bilateral cultural relations by exchanging information about the joint cultural activities and projects such as exhibitions of paintings and handicrafts and cultural events of international importance and by facilitating the reciprocal participation of artistic groups and representatives in these events. The minister said the Italian culture is highly appreciated in Moldova, including at the Italian festivals staged in Moldova, and asked for support in organizing the training of Moldovan restorers in Italy, which is recognized for the best practices in the field.
For his part, Enrico Nunziata thanked for the cultural events organized in concert with cultural institutions of Moldova such as the National Philharmonic “Sergei Lunkevich” and the Organ Hall, saying they will continue to support and diversify the join cultural activities in different areas of culture. The diplomat expressed readiness to ensure the transfer of Italian expertise in restoring pieces of heritage and to help mount an exhibition of Cucuteni ceramics in Italy. He noted that the cultural projects supported by the Embassy of Italy are designed to contribute to cultural reintegration and consolidation of society, underlining the necessity of realizing the potential of the Moldovan diaspora in Italy.
