The Republic of Moldova is interested in cooperating with Qatar. The authorities count especially on the initiation of projects that will be financially supported by Qatar in Moldova, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in the context of his official visit to this state that started on December 10, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This country plays an important role in the Persian Gulf region. Moldova has direct interests in this respect. We are to sign a series of agreements. We will have meetings with the senior authorities of this state. I’m confident that we will agree on the implementation of a series of projects with financing on the part of the Qatari state, which has important funds for development. We hope we will reach agreements in education and other sectors,” said the Premier. Vlad Filat will be in Qatar until December 12. This is the first visit paid by a Moldovan Premier to the Persian Gulf region. He will have meetings with the Emir of Qatar Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al-Thani, and other officials. The Moldovan delegation will also visit the Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and will meet with representatives of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Qatar and with one of the largest Qatari companies Hassad Food. There will be signed a number of bilateral agreements between Moldova and Qatar in economic cooperation, promotion of investments, elimination of the visa regime for holders of diplomatic and special passports, promotion of tourism and in the area of sport.
