Moldova intends to reduce absolute poverty by at least 50% until 2030

The Republic of Moldova aims to reduce the absolute poverty level by at least 50% until 2030. This objective is stipulated in the national development strategy “European Moldova 2030” that was given a second reading by Parliament. This is a long-term national strategic view document depicting the country’s developing directions, IPN reports.

The document stipulates ten general objectives used to measure the quality of life in the European Union. Among these are the increasing of incomes from sustainable sources and attenuation of inequality; improvement of living conditions; guaranteeing of relevant and high-quality education throughout life.

The strategy will be the benchmark in the process of designing the medium-term budgetary framework and envisions the building of Moldova’s resilience in the eventuality of a new crisis. It will also direct the development partners’ assistance with regard to the national development priorities and will ensure better coordination of assistance projects.
