Moldova intend to play Sweden offensively

Moldova’s national football team meet Sweden in the 2012 European Championship qualifiers on June 3. Manager Gabi Balint promises they will play offensively, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We have nothing to lose. I hope the players realize this,” Balint said in a news conference on May 30. The Romanian coach believes that his pupils can surprise the adversary. “If we perform well, I will be contented with one point. But I think that our squad can produce a surprise, even if the Swedish team include the best players,” said Balint. The Moldovan footballers are very optimistic before the game. “We play at home with a full stadium and I hope we will score a victory,” said Artur Patras. “If we prepare seriously and trust our forces, we can achieve a good result,” said Eugen Cebotaru. Four players were not summoned for the match with Sweden. These are Sheriff Tiraspol halfbacks Serghei Gheorghiev and Anatol Cheptine, Valeriu Andronic of SKA-Energhia Russia, and fullback Semion Bulgaru of Alania Vladikavkaz. Instead, Balint invited Stanislav Ivanov of Lokomotiv Moscow, after a pause of several years. The game will be played on Zimbru Satdium starting at 21.30. All the 10,500 tickets for the match have been sold.
