Moldova increases quota subscription to IMF by about US$77m
Moldova has raised the quota subscription to the International Monetary Fund from 123.2 million Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) to 172.5 million SDRs or by about US$77 million, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The lawmakers voted a bill on the increase in the quota subscription to the IMF in two readings. National Bank governor Dorin Dragutanu said that following the rise in the IFM capital and the realignment of the quota shares of the member countries by the Fund’s Board of Governors, Moldova is to increase its quota subscription to the IMF.
The bill authors said the rise in the Fund’s capital and in the quota subscription of Moldova will contribute to increasing the volume of IMF assistance provided to the country.
