Moldova included among first five countries to benefit from Greek financial support

Moldova was included among the first five countries which will benefit from the financing provided by the Greek Government for the implementation of several projects of mutual interest, Kostas Karamanlis, the Greek PM said at a meeting with President Vladimir Voronin, who is visiting Greece these days. The Greek PM specified that the most important fields in this respect are to be determined during the assembly of the intergovernmental Moldovan-Greek Committee, which will be held in November 2007. Also, the Greek PM said that Greece wants to find long-term political solutions to the Transnistrian dispute and to set up peace and stability in the region. Karamanalis assured that the authorities in Athens will examine the possibility of joining this project. Also, Vladimir Voronin met with Greek President Karolos Papoulias and Speaker Anna Psarouda-Benaki. There were signed three bilateral agreements during the visit: on cooperation in the areas of culture, education and science, customs and public administration.
