A new mechanism for streamlining the flow of persons will be piloted at the Chisinau International Airport. Changes are also to be introduced in the method of crossing the border by land, the head of the General Border Police Inspectorate Rosian Vasiloi stated in the program “At 360 degrees” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
In accordance with the new mechanism, the citizens who will cross the border with passports of EU member states will use the EU PASSPORTS control booth, while those who possess passports issued by countries that do not form part of the community bloc will use the ALL PASSPORTS control booth.
“We will make the given information public tomorrow. Today I visited the Chisinau International Airport. We are at the last stage of the process for introducing a new mechanism for streamlining the flow of persons through the Chisinau International Airport. For example, there will be separate flows for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and for European citizens, or the other passports category that we are piloting, similar to the methods used in the EU. We must move faster so as to implement the new mechanism by summer or even earlier,” stated Rosian Vasiloi.
Also, the Border Police chief noted that Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco on February 9 will sign an agreement between the Republic of Moldova and Romania based on which coordinated control at the Leușeni-Albița state border crossing point will be performed only when entering Romania. The new functioning regime will be applied at the beginning of spring.
