Moldova hosts simulation exercise on combing of human trafficking

A simulation-based national training exercise in trafficking in persons is held in Moldova for the time. During five days, practitioners in preventing, combating trafficking in persons and protecting victims will become involved in simulated situations based on the national context to identify and investigate cases of trafficking in persons for labor and sexual exploitation, IPN reports.

The training is staged by the State Chancellery and the OSCE Mission to promote interinstitutional cooperation and to encourage pro-active investigation of cases of trafficking in persons.

In the opening of the event, secretary of state of the State Chancellery Ana Calinici said the simulation exercise will help identify the existing shortcomings and improve the processes related to the prevention and combating of trafficking in human beings. The subject remains high on the Government’s list of priorities. A program for the prevention and combating of trafficking in human beings for 2024-2028 is to be approved.

“The document will ensure the continuity of national policies in the field and will come with new measures to diminish this scourge,” stated Ana Calinici.

The national training exercise is staged during September 18-22.
