Moldova has big chances of hosting the European Under-20 Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women’s Wresting Championships in 2019. The president of the United World Wrestling-Europe Tzeno Tzenov is in Chisinau on a working visit, IPN reports.
“The chances are important when the Moldovan wrestlers have good results on the international arena. I and my colleagues will try to offer Moldova the chance to host the European Championships,” Tzeno Tzenov told a news conference.
“I’m very glad that we enjoy the support of Mister Tzeno Tzenov and I hope we will organize this competition and will have the best results,” said the chairman of the National Olympic and Sports Committee Nicolae Juravschi.
“We want to bring the European Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women’s Wresting Championships 2019 to Moldova and will make effort for this to happen,” said the president of the Moldovan Wrestling Federation Victor Peicov.
A decision will be taken in September. Spain is Moldova’s opponent in this regard. In 2019, Moldova will also host the European Youth Weightlifting Championships.
