Moldova goes through to Eurovision final

Moldova’s representative at the 57th International Song Contest Eurovision 2012 Pasha Parfeny qualified for the May 26 grand final after performing in the first semifinal on May 22, Info-Prim Neo reports The singer sang on the Eurovision stage in Baku the 17th, being the last but one. Ten countries of the 18 that competed in first semifinal went through to the final. The Romanian band Mandinga was the first to find out that they qualified for the final, followed by Pasha Parfeny. The second semifinal with another 18 competing countries will take place on May 24. The final will involve the 20 finalists from the first and second semifinals, the representative of Azerbaijan and the representatives of the five countries that founded the contest, which qualify automatically for the final – France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. Moldova has taken part in Eurovision the eighth consecutive year. It achieved the best result in 2005, when the band “Zdob si Zdub” ranked sixth in Kiev.
