Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine aim to extend political association with EU, MFAEI

The Republic of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine aim to extend the political association, economic and sector integration with the European Union in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreements. The position was stated by acting Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Aureliu Ciocoi together with his Georgian and Ukrainian counterparts David Zalkaliania nd Dmytro Kuleba, who had a meeting with European Commission Vice President /High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) of Moldova says the three associated countries aim to set ambitions goals within the Eastern Partnership, which will encourage the intensification of cooperation and continuous rapprochement between the Eastern partners and the EU. In this regard, the Eastern Partnership Summit that is set to take place at the end of this year will be a major opportunity that should be taken.

Aureliu Ciocoi noted that the EU is the strategic political and commercial partner of the three associated states that combined forces to more efficiently promote the European integration agenda, being guided by their European aspirations. Sustained efforts are further needed to strengthen democracy and the rule of law, the associated countries assuming firm commitments in this regard, including through the Association Agreements with the EU.

The ministers underscored that the European integration and improvement of the living standards are the key objectives of the three states.
