The national U-21 football team of Moldova will play in group 1 of the qualifying rounds of the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, allongside the squads of the Czech Republic, Belgium, Montenegro, Latvia, and Malta.

The draw was held at the UEFA head office in Switzerland’s Nyon on February 5. The program of the matches will be set later, IPN reports, quoting an announcement of the Moldovan Football Federation.

The 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship will take place in Poland. The 2013 Championship held in Israel was won by Spain. Moldova’s national team never passed through the qualifying rounds of the European Championship.
