Moldova fails to qualify for Eurovision final

The representative of Moldova at the 61st Eurovision Song Contest Lidia Isac didn’t qualify for the competition’s final in the first semifinal held in Stockholm on May 10, IPN reports.

Lidia Isac competed under No. 3 with the song “Falling Stars”. On the stage, the Moldovan singer was accompanied by a dancer. She failed to qualify for the Eurovision final that will take place on May 14.

The first semifinal of the contest involved the representatives of 18 countries, but only ten managed to win the sympathy of the public and the jury and thus qualified for the final. These are the singers from Azerbaijan, Russia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, Armenia, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, and Malta. The second semifinal will be held on May 12.

Moldova has taken part in this contest since 2005. Moldova’s representative last year, Ukrainian singer Eduard Romanyuta, also didn’t qualify for the Vienna Eurovision final.
