The Moldova – European Union Association Council comes together in Brussels on March 14 to thoroughly analyze the implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Moldova, which was signed in 2014, IPN reports.
Earlier, Prime Minister Pavel Filip asked the members of the governmental commission for European integration, which consists of ministers, to increase the work pace and to meticulously prepare for the meeting of the Association Council. He also requested to make maximum effort for the delegation of Moldova to come with concrete results at the meeting.
Last month, the Cabinet approved the draft roadmap concerning the key reforms agenda. The document represents a list of immediate actions that will be taken by the authorities to solve the problems identified in the process of consulting the European partners and civil society of Moldova. The roadmap does not replace the strategies and sector policies under implementation and sets out the short- and medium-term priorities of the Government and Parliament, based on the conclusions of the Council of the European Union of Moldova. The measures included in the document will be implemented by the Government, Parliament and independent bodies.
Meanwhile, Parliament adopted the Law on the Prosecution Service in the final reading and the package of laws on integrity in the second reading as well as a package of laws on the financial-banking sector.
The first meeting of the Association Council was held in March 2015. Besides the Premier, Moldova’s delegation included the minister of foreign affairs and European integration, minister of economy, deputy prime minister for reintegration and the minister of justice.
