Moldova slipped one position and now occupies the 159th place in the August update of the FIFA world rankings, IPN reports.
The national team is coached by Igor Dobrovolski and will next play Serbia (September 2, in Belgrade) and Wales (September 5, in Chisinau) as part of the qualifiers for 2018’s World Cup.
Moldova was placed in group D of the European qualifiers. Its top ranked rival is Wales (18th), followed by Ireland (29th), Austria (37th) , Serbia (42nd) and Georgia (112th).
Brazil tops the FIFA rankings, followed by Germany and Argentina. The next update of the rankings will be published on September 14.
