Moldova drop three places in FIFA rankings
The national football team of Moldova dropped three places in the world rankings published on Wednesday, August 24, by the International Football Federation (FIFA), Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Tricolors were ranked 88th, with 364 points. In August, the side coached by Gabi Balint lost a friendly match 3-2 against Cyprus.
Among Moldova’s EURO 2012 qualifying group rivals, Netherlands top the FIFA rankings for the first time. Sweden are 18th, Hungary rose to the 47th position, Finland dropped to 75th, while San Marino remain at the bottom- 203th.
The most improved team were the Seychelles Isles, who rose 24 places to the 175th. The Central African Republic was on the opposite side, with 15 dropped places.
World Cup runners-up Netherlands leapfrogged Spain at the top and Germany complete the top three.
