The national women’s football team of Moldova scored the first point in the qualifying competition of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The team trained by Alina Stetsenko drew with Romania’s squad at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau 0-0, IPN reports.
Romania had important occasions for scoring, but goalkeeper Natalia Munteanu defended well the goal. “We thank all those who were near us today. I’m satisfied with the result and hope our play will be better in the next games,” coach Alina Stetsenko told a news conference.
Moldova plays the next match against Belgium at home on June 10, 2018.
