It's not a bad proposal, but we should take into account the financial situation in Moldova, the official said, adding that the sum earmarked for the diplomatic service in the state budget is by only 1 million lei higher than in 2009, but the activities planned are larger in number, including the opening of the consulate in Iasi and the embassy in Spain. “There are also other possibilities of promoting Moldova's image and the goods abroad. For example, we can appoint honorific councils as other counties with more financial possibilities do. The important thing is that we identify the suitable persons,” Iurie Leanca said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The Deputy Premier also said that the salaries of the Moldovan ambassadors will not be secret anymore. Currently, their salaries vary between 1,700 and 2,000 euros, while of the drivers – between 950 and 1,000 euros. The state allocated 158 million lei for supporting the diplomatic service this year.
