Moldova continues to have pro-European orientation, Speaker

Head of Parliament Andrian Candu assured that Moldova continues to have a pro-European orientation and asked for the Romanian Royal House’s assistance in transmitting this message at international level. The Speaker had a meeting with their Highnesses, Princes Nicolae and Radu of Romania, who are in Chisinau on a visit, IPN has learned from the Parliament’s press service.

According to the Speaker, the Royal House of Romania always made a special contribution to developing Moldova, proving humanitarian, social, cultural and diplomatic support to the country.

Prince Radu spoke about the activities carried out by the Royal House in a move to support Moldova. “We made effort to include Moldova in practically all the activities performed lately. We aim to develop these activities. On the trips we make, based on our foreign agenda, we convey the message concerning Moldova’s integration into the EU,” he stated.

Afterward, Andrian Candu and the Royal Highnesses laid flowers at the bust to poet Grigore Vieru in the central park of Chisinau.

Prince Nicolae is paying a public visit to Moldova on February 18 – 24. He came to Moldova for the first time. His program includes visits to the towns Orhei, Balti and Soroca and to the municipality of Chisinau. Prince Radu is making a visit to the municipality of Chisinau on February 23 – 24. He had meetings with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and the president of the Academy of Sciences Gheorghe Duca.
