Moldova negotiated with Ukraine a purchase price of power of 6.9 cents per kilowatt-hour. Acting Minister of the Economy Valeriu Lazar said he does not see preconditions for increasing the charges for end-users, IPN reports.
Valeriu Lazar told the journalists that the provision of Moldova with electricity is guaranteed. 30% of the internal necessities will be satisfied from local sources, 20% – by the Ukrainian suppliers, while 50% by the Cuchurgan power plant.
According to the official, the negotiations with the Ukrainian side were constructive given that the price of power on the Ukrainian market rose to 8.9 cents per kilowatt-hour. The new contracts will be signed on March 26.
The supply of electric power for the state-owned power distribution networks RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest was negotiated by Energocom. Gaz Natural Fenosa negotiated for itself. The contacts will be signed with the Cuchurgan power plant that is owned by the Russian company Inter RAO UES and the Ukrainian company DTEC.
The current contracts expire on March 31.
