The flu epidemiological level has been higher than the norm for two weeks. If the situation continues for another week, a pandemic state will be declared in Moldova, IPN reports.
According to a communique of the Ministry of Health, the number of cases of seasonal flu this week rose 2.3 times compared with the previous week. The number of cases of acute upper respiratory tract infections increased 1.4 times, exceeding the epidemiological level.
The number of hospitalized persons grew to 2,172 from 1,580 last week.
On March 2, the cases of flu totaled 742. By molecular biology techniques, 120 cases of flu were confirmed, including 56 A(H1N1) cases, three A(H3N2) cases, and 61 type B cases.
