Moldova borrows from UniCreditBank for National Clinical Hospital project

Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, and Doris Pignitter, executive director of UniCreditBank Austria, have signed the loan Agreement for aiding the project for the “Improvement of medical services at the National Clinical Hospital”, reports Info-Prim Neo. The Minister of Finance stated that this is the first time when Moldova benefits from such a concessional loan from Austria, for the improvement of medical services, in this case for the National Clinical Hospital, which is the reference institution for all district hospitals in the country. The loan is given for 15 years, with a 5.5-year grace period and no interest. The complete cost of the project is €7.5 million, and the basic objectives are to modernize the surgery, diagnosis, emergency, and intensive care isles of the National Clinical Hospital. Minister of Healthcare Andrei Usatii stated that this loan will substantially improve intensive care, diagnosis, anesthesia, and reanimation services, among other improvements to the Hospital. The signing of the Agreement will contribute to the diversification of collaboration relations between Moldova and Austria, and will facilitate access to concessional loans for new projects in healthcare, as well as in other sectors.
