Moldova borrows €20m from Poland at annual interest rate of 0.01%

The Government approved the ratification of the €20 million loan agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland. The loan is repayable in 20 years at an annual interest rate of 0.01%, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

The money will be used to finance the needs of the state budget, including to manage the Ukrainian refugee crisis. In accordance with the loan agreement, the funds will be disbursed in one installment within three months of the coming into force of the agreement.

The agreement was signed by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița in Poland on April 8 this year.

The law to ratify the agreement is to be passed by Parliament.
