The Republic of Moldova became a fully-fledged member of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Program. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research said the involvement of Moldovan researchers in the activities of the program will represent progress in research and innovation, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry, projects to internationally promote innovations of Moldovan researchers, especially young ones, will be attracted through the agency of the program that is an instrument for forming networks of researchers form a number of states. It facilitates innovation and scientific progress, produces and coordinates research activities by bringing together researchers with the aim of exchanging information in different areas.
The Ministry noted the mission of the program is to help connect research initiatives across Europe and beyond and enable researchers and innovators to grow their ideas in any science and technology field by sharing them with their peers.
This May, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc had a meeting with COST Director Ronal de Bruin with whom she discussed the possibility of Moldova joining the COST Program in 2018.
