The men’s tennis team of Moldova has qualified for the third round of the Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group II after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina away 3-1, IPN reports.
The decisive point was brought by Moldova’s best player Radu Albot, who won a spectacular victory against Damir Dzumhur. Albot lost the first two sets, but then recovered and won the game in five sets by 7-6, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 3-6.
Albot was Moldova’s hero as he won all the matches played, two in singles and one in doubles with Andrei Ciumac.
Moldova is to play a decisive match for qualifying for the Davis Cup Group I against Portugal, which easily beat Lithuania 5-0. The duel will most probably take place in Chisinau in September.
