The national football team of Moldova remained with one point after the fifth match of the Euro 2016 qualifying rounds played. Moldova was defeated by Sweden 0-2 at home, IPN reports.
Both of the goals were scored by the star Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the second round. The first goal was scored in the 46th minute, after a mistake made by goalkeeper Ilie Cebanu. In the 84th minute, Ibrahimovic widened the difference by scoring from a penalty kick.
“I’m very disappointed. After the first half, I hoped for a better result. We have yet a lot to do,” Moldova coach Alexandru Curteian told a news conference.
“Moldova had no chance. Our defense was very good,” stated the coach of Sweden Erik Hamren.
Moldova ranks last in Group G. It plays the next match away, against Liechtenstein, on June 14.
