Moldova has signed the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 (H2020) Association Agreement. Alongside Moldova, the accord was signed by Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, IPN reports.
According to the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, after the signature of the Association Agreement with the European Union on June 27, H2020 is the first EU program to which Moldova associates. Moldova is thus the first EaP country holding such a status.
The program is open to research institutions and universities and to the NGO and business sectors. Private individuals and legal entities from Moldova will enjoy the same rights as those from the EU member states within the H2020 calls.
