“Today, Moldova and Prime Minister Vlad Filat are positive heroes of the European Union,” Polish Premier Donald Tusk said in a news conference held jointly with his Moldovan counterpart in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. Donald Tusk said that Poland will make everything possible to accelerate Moldova's integration into the EU. He stressed Moldova showed that important and rather difficult reforms can be implemented in a short period of time, while the Moldovan political class realized the importance of European integration. Prime Minister Vlad Filat thanked the Polish Premier for accepting the invitation to visit Moldova and said that the discussions with his counterpart centered on the steps that the official Chisinau will take to come closer to the EU. He stressed that Poland's support in this process is very important for Moldova, especially because this country will take over the presidency of the EU on July 1. According to the Moldovan Premier, in this period Moldova is to cover essential stages in the European integration process and Poland can provide assistance in this respect. The two Premiers also discussed the development of the economic and commercial cooperation between the two states and the augmentation of Polish investments in Moldova's economy. Vlad Filat said the EU Summit on the Eastern Partnership that will take place in Poland in September is a very important event for Moldova. Until then, the Moldovan authorities will have to prove that they fulfilled all the commitments related to this partnership. On March 30, Vlad Filat and Donald Tusk will take part the European Union-Moldova Forum.
