Moldova and Ukraine create Euroregion “Nistru”
Representatives of the administration of the Ukrainian region Vinitsa and heads of six Moldovan districts signed an agreement to set up the Euroregion “Nistru” as a body of crossborder cooperation between these territorial units, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the agreement on behalf of Moldova was signed by the administrations of the districts Donduseni, Ocnita, Rezina, Soroca, Floresti, and Soldanesti.
The aim of the agreement is to strengthen and develop good neighborhood relations, partnerships and cooperation relations in the economic, social, cultural and humanitarian areas. The parties pleaded for joining the material and financial resources, including within European assistance programs, so as to implement common projects aimed at promoting the socioeconomic development of the given regions.
The event took place during the official visit of Prime Minister Vlad Filat to Ukraine on February 2-3.
