Moldova and Romania should cooperate to support diaspora, APE

The Foreign Policy Association (APE) recommends establishing cooperation elations between Romania and Moldova for supporting the diaspora, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Both the official Chisinau and Bucharest should think out a cooperation platform, a possible agreement that would lay down coordination principles. It would be a pity to promote the two diasporas separately,” APE executive director Victor Chirila said in a meeting of the Association’s Press Club that centered on the shortcomings of the legal and institutional framework that do not allow supporting the diaspora abroad. According to Victor Chirila, the promotion of the diaspora through the cooperation between the two states will help to integrally transmit the traditions and cultural and linguistic heritage. Romania has already drafted a strategy for supporting the Romanians everywhere, while Moldova should learn from Romania’s related experience in a number of areas.
