The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of India could establish new partnerships in such areas as textile and food industries, medicine and pharmacology, information technology and production of renewable energy. The issue was discussed in a meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Minister of Statistics and Program Implementation of India D.V. Sadananda Gowda. The interlocutors conferred on the prospects of developing the Moldovan-Indian cooperation, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said the executive of India wants the bilateral relations with the Republic of Moldova to develop and be of a higher quality and appreciated the fruitful cooperation between the two states within international organizations.

Pavel Filip expressed the Moldovan Government’s readiness to identity possibilities of stimulating the commercial exchanges between the two states, in particular to increase the export of Moldovan products to the Indian market and to attract Indian investments to our country. The officials also discussed the possibility of constituting a joint intergovernmental commission for commercial-economic cooperation and of intensifying the mutually advantageous commercial contacts.

Minister of Statistics and Program Implementation of India D.V. Sadananda Gowda is paying a three-day visit to Moldova. While in Moldova, the minister will have meetings with high-ranking officials and will make visits to several education institutions.
