Moldova and the Czech Republic move together in the same direction, towards the European Union, said the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament David Vodrazka. Related statements were made in a meeting of First Deputy Speaker of Moldova Vlad Plahotniuc and a delegation of this Commission, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Parliament. “We consider the Czech Republic as one of our main partners in Europe and approve of the support we receive from the Czech administrative bodies, at the institutional and parliamentary levels,” said Vlad Plahotniuc. For his part, the head of the Czech delegation spoke about his country’s wish to improve the cooperation relations with the Eastern countries, including Moldova. “I think we have the basis needed to build constructive cooperation. Both of the countries move towards the West, the EU. The Czech Republic wants to have good contacts with the Eastern states, while the cooperation with your country is already good,” he stated. Among the subjects discussed in the meeting were the parliamentary cooperation projects, the commercial-economic potential of Moldova and the electoral systems of the two countries. Vlad Plahotniuc informed the Czech officials about the initiation of debates centering on the introduction of the uninominal voting system in Moldova.
