Moldova and Belarus to produce seeds in concert

The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Belarus will intensify cooperation in seed production. The partnership possibilities were discussed by Minister of Agriculture Eduard Grama in a meeting with Fiodor Privalov, director general of the state-run enterprise “Scientific Practical Center for Agriculture” of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and with Leonid Shimanschii, director of the Phitotechny Institute of Polesia, IPN reports.

The sides expressed interest in establishing a partnership between the Scientific Practical Center for Agriculture of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Porumbeni Phitotechny Institute of Moldova so as to facilitate in concert the production and supply of crop seeds to Belaruus and to cooperate in the seed selection and amelioration process.

The interlocutors analyzed the principles of cooperation based on which proposals will be formulated for being included in the intergovernmental memorandum that will offer guarantees to the sides and will stipulate the commitments and responsibilities of the partners.
