Vladimir Voronin and Ilham Alyev stressed the necessity of identifying possibilities of implementing cooperation projects and of considering them at the coming meeting of the joint intergovernmental comission for commercial-economic cooperation. Among the key areas of cooperation, the two officials mentioned the power and fuel industry and the agroindustrial, investment, social-humanity, information technology and transport sectors. They expressed readiness to open a Chisinau-Baku flight to stimulate the commercial-economic cooperation between the two states. The frozen conflicts were a separate topic for discussion. The three intergovernmental agreements signed on April 23 will extend the legal framework regulating the Moldovan-Azeri relations. The accords envision cooperation in the power and fuel industry, exchange of information and cooperation in combating infringements of the economic and fiscal legislation and cooperation in protecting intellectual property. The Moldovan President will complete his official visit to Azerbaijan on April 24.
